To work at our summer centre as a Teacher you must meet the following criteria:

  • Eligible to work in the UK and over 18 years old.
  • You should must be able to manage your classroom effectively and show a commitment to student-centred learning.
  • You must show an ability to develop and adapt materials to suit students’ needs and also to use a variety of teaching strategies and methods.
  • You must show a 100% commitment to welfare of all the students on site.
  • You must show a degree of flexibility & adaptability. And also have an ability to prioritise your working schedule and incorporate any changes that may happen.
  • We are a small team so it is important that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to pass on and share important information.
  • You must be a native English speaker or have a near native level of English (IELTS 8.0)
  • You must have either a CELTA, Trinity TESOL and / or QTS
  • You will also need have a Degree, Your application may still be considered if you do not have a degree, depending on your experience and other qualifications.

The Director of Studies is responsible for the academic management of the centre and ensuring that all of the courses and teaching are delivered at the highest possible standards.

You will be managing a team of up to 15 teachers during the peak week, so a strong head for numbers and excellent organisational skills is essential.

YOU NEED TO BE:

Eligible to work in the UK and over 18 years old.

 

YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • An excellent understanding of running a Summer School.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to proactively determine day to day requirements of the centre.
  • Attention to detail and high level of administrative accuracy.
  • The ability to motivate teaching staff and be able to advise them on materials, and resources.
  • Ability to remain calm in often stressful situations, and to maintain a busy staff room.
  • Be a confident user of Microsoft products – such as Powerpoint, Word, Excel etc.

 

YOU MUST:

  • Be a native English speaker or have a near native level of English (IELTS 8.0)
  • Have either a CELTA, Trinity TESOL and / or QTS
  • At least 1 years’ experience of teaching young learners
  • Some summer school experience is essential
  • DELTA, Trinity College London DipTESOL
  • Hold a Degree

The Activity Manager is a key role and an instrumental part in the running of a successful Summer Centre.

It takes a special individual that can juggle the many components and make it run like clockwork.

You need to be: Eligible to work in the UK and over 18 years old

You should:

  • Be a native or near native level English speaker – this includes your writing.
  • Experience of EFL summer programmes or working in other similar roles.
  • Ability to be lead a team of like-minded people and bring out their strengths.
  • Ability to think on your feet and be able to adapt in any given situation.
  • Enjoy working with young people from all walks of life and from different cultures.
  • Be a confident and sociable person that can interact with teachers, group leaders, children and any other staff on site with ease.
  • Have excellent Organisational skills – with the ability to pre- plan programmes in any eventuality.

 

Requirements:

Valid DBS

Valid First Aid Certificate or Life Guarding certificate

Experience of working in a similar environment

Activity Leaders are the glue that make the programme stick together – you need to be fun, energetic, imaginative, able to work on your own (and be a team player) and be able to offer excellent customer service at all times for our young learners.

Courses are aimed at students aged 10-14 & 15-17 years and focus on providing a high-quality English language course combined with an exciting activities and excursions programme.
As an Activity Leader, you will be part of a team that delivers a varied, exciting and culturally enriching programme to young students. You will be working to deliver a wide range of afternoon and evening on-site activities, which may include sports, arts and crafts, music and drama workshops, quizzes, themed discos, karaoke and talent shows. Off-campus, much of your day will be spent in and around London, so it is important that you are comfortable using public transport and to be able to think fast on your feet.

The ideal candidate must be:

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Native or near-native level English speaker based in the UK
  • Confident, enthusiastic, and have the energy levels to lead 10 to 17 year olds
  • Approachable, friendly, and able to build a strong rapport with young people
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Able to use own initiative and work as part of a team
  • Flexible, creative and adaptable

 

The following are desirable:

  • First aid qualification
  • Knowledge of London
  • Experience in leading/training a sports, leisure team or similar team
  • Previous experience as an Activity Leader in a residential role
  • Experience of working with children/teenagers in a similar environment.

 

You will be responsible to the Activty Manager.
